Happy Bday, JC!

Me, still feeling sluggish from medication, had decided to listen to doc's advice (for once), to stay in and rest. Got a shock when doc teased me that i wasnt feeling feverish, but spotting high temp of 39.6 degrees! "Thats not feverish, but you are running a very high temperature", was what the cute doc said to me.

So, being a needy sick woman, i stayed at hm all day, partially sleeping due to the medicine taking its effects, and partly to lick my wounds, over the loss of 2 workers. Decided that being outdoors will do me some good. Hence, put on my best dress, and headed to The Central, to meet the gals. its gals nite out tonight and we are also celebrating JC's bday in advance.

met JC at The Central, and we hung around, while waiting for the 2 missies. one word concluded my thoughts abt The Central. "BLEH". I rem every little step i take, i kept murmuring under my breathe, "Boring!" The architecture structure just seems "SO WRONG". While i appreciate that one wing contains all the Foodie tenants, and the other wings with fashion labels, making it easy for shoppers, i still think its "BLEH". Why? Well, first of all, i find myself getting lost within the many little alleys. Every little turn brings me to another location, sometimes twice, and i am still so unable to locate the escalators, just to get out.

One look into the shops, it was worst. Just look at the mismatch that i'm gonna list here:

Mistake #1 - It just is not right to be airing Chinese Radio Station. Com'on! Surely a piece of jazz (even more mismatch) still beats radio station hands down, right?

Mistake # 2 - SAs (Sales Executives) are sitting within their respective stores, looking darn bloody BORED. And most shops SAs, are either way too "Lian-ish" or else a tad too old. I rem i walked past one funky shop, to see an auntie, in her late 40s, in her so damm unfunky outfit, and sitting with her legs wide apart. *GASPS*

Mistake #3 - Lack of informational Directional Signs. Ok, that is my occupational hazard (I'm in the signage line). I can walked at one level, bypass some shops a couple of times, and still unable to figure the way out.

Summary of above 3 mistakes, i told JC that i felt that i am shopping in BKK's famous MBK. Sign..

Met up the gals and HL drove us to the current happening haunt in town - Dempsey Hills. Olden Barracks were gone, making way for new eateries and water holes. Interesting place, to see so many different themed restaurants sprouting everywhere, on this little lonely hill.

We settled for House-Barracks. Nice looking place, all spacious and nice. Their waiting staff, all cladded in "school uniforms". Still find it unbearable. I kept having this illusion that these waiters/waitresses are skipping classes, and earning their pocket monies here.

cutleries in tin - not wise choice, cos looking very messy

Ordered 3 entrees and one appetisers, and while the food looked good when arrived, doesnt seem to taste that fantastic too. What a sight, to see 4 of us, shaking our heads as we each tasted our food. Would grade 7/10 for ambience and 3/10 for food. Thats personal grading.

beauties four

dunno if this is the pork (by JC) or chicken (by HL)

prawns in tin, again...

Left Dempsey Hills, and HL still felt hungry. Ended up at Hong Kong Cafe at Novena. Err.. food and drinks, so-so only lah... We hung ard and talked till almost 1am, before departing to send the gals home. Ok, keep posted. will upload pics when i receive from Sel Dearest.

Ta!
