SELAMAT HARI RAYA
We roamed ard while waitin for the crews got ready to allow admission. The N.S. opened at 7pm, and by 6.45pm, there was already a snaking queue. Seems that not only Singaporeans are K.S. leh.. wahahhaa... When the entrance was finally opened, we went for the Animal Show at the amphitheatre. There were a total of 2 highlights tonight, and the first highlight happened during the show.
The tram ride was about 30 minutes, and as expected, most of the animals, although are nocturnal creatures, appeared so lifeless.. occasionally stirring, as if we had interrupted their beauty sleep. The hyenas and jackals were probably the only few creatures, prancing around.
The whole place is so "black out" that we have no idea how to walk the trail, and feared that the unintentional appearance of the horror mascots wuld freak daryl out. Anyway, we realised that we had not taken our dinner, and son looked visibly tired out... As we walked out, we saw so many horror freaks, that i culdnt help, but to take pics with them.. what a perfect photo opportunity!
And, the 2nd highlight of the night happened there and then! Son was already 80% freaked when i took pics with these "monsters", and when one of them removed their mask, to show his normal human face, son was slightly relieved that all was fine. Then, came 2 little monsters! They had the mask of the "Scream" character. You knw, the mask with a huge hanging jaw? These 2 little boys, probably part of the crew (am not sure), came up to shake hand with son. One of them made a "Growl" at daryl, and son, started to"growl" back at them. Not once, but twice!! i had thought that son was tryin to scare them back, but it turned out that son was so traumatised by these 2 little monsters, that he did what his little mind told him t do, i.e. to let his fear out, but screamin back at them, The 2 little monsters were freaked out tis time... took a step back!
Maui, one of our AW committee member had invited us to his hse today, for a Hari Raya celebrations. Although some of them had their own things to see to, we still had almost 7 or 8 families visiting him at his Clementi hse. The hosts were so nice to cater lots of cookies/kuehs and catered some buffet food for our consumption.
This is the first time i have ever attended a muslim new year party, and hey, its so much like our CNY! The type of goodies that they served are so similar to the chinese type. I saw hae-bee-hiam (dried shrimp paste popiah), pineapple tarts, some kinda cookies etc..
Everyone made themselves very comfortable in Maui's hse... laughing, eating, laughing, eating... then the guys, as usual, wuld gather to talk abt their rides... i dun understand how come they got so much thgs to talk abt their rides, when they see each other at least twice a week... sigh..
Iggy and Serene brought along their junior.. and tis is the first time i set my eyes on darling Trevor... I tink he looks like both parents... Amazing feelin to be seeing him for the 1st time, after i have been so used to seeing preggy Serene.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN @ NIGHT SAFARI
After departing from Clementi, we headed to Amara for hb to deliver some stuff to a client, and i suddenly felt that instead of wasting money and time to shop, and bump shoulders with the crowd, it wuld be better to bring son to the Night Safari cos he's never been there before. And i vaguely remembered that Halloween Celebrations ends today at the N.S. (short for Night Safari).

In line with the Horror Halloween theme, the show commenced with the appearance of gremblin ripper... Son was momentarily stunned, as he never expected that. We culd see that son was visibly frightened, although he kept mum abt his fears.
Halfway thru the show, the ripper walked to the spot where we were sitting.. Dammit! It had to be so "zhun".. he started to bang his axe on the covered manhole.. indicating that some kinda animal was inside. Son got so frightene that he almost leapt. And the performers did a pretense, by suddenly banging close the cover... and they ran to the other side of the aisle, and opened another similar cover, and held out a huge python! *GASPS* i dunno if i should laugh or cry.. but i kept tellin hb that it must be so "heng" that the python was on the other manhole and not the same manhole that i was steppin on. To think, i was still banging my feet on the manhole, when i heard the performer jesting abt a volunteer.
After the show, we proceeded to queue for the tram ride. For tonight, there were 2 types of rides, going on the same route. One is called the "Normal Tram" and the other, "Horrow Tram". As with the theme, the Horro Tram was full of scary moments and the crew confirmed that the Horrow Tram is indeed scary, and almost all kiddos alighted the tram, in tears. Seeing son was affected by the Ripper, we decided to go for the Normal Tram... although i really wished i had a chance to travel on the Horrow Tram.

Then hub had the worried look in his face, sayin that tis time, son was indeed frightened. For a moment, i was worried. Then i smiled. I explained to hb, that i rather he let out his fear thru actions/verbal, then for him to keep in his little heart, and bring the fear into his growing years. Son, got so scared, that he burst out crying... hahaha... i felt so amused, yet so worried... that he will start to hv nightmares.
Well, he's sleepin beside me, as i m blogging away. I can see that there's really some after-effects, as i can see him occasionally twitching his face, his limps and fingers "shivered" randomly. But anyway, i will still monitor him lah. Ok, for more pics, pls click here or at the right.
