BKK 04 - 07 Oct 07

I 'm back!!! life' been very hectic recently! had a set up overnight on Tues night, and stationed at VV City on Wed whole day, and went bk home to pack for Thursday's BKK trip.

As usual, the whole kamponmg went for this trip. Parents, Bro n GF, + my family of 3. I am always the planner for our kampong trips but for this time round, i was so bogged down with my events that i have no chance to research. Sel laughed at me, saying that we are seasoned travellers esp to BKK and hence why the need for research? Well, my theory is if i m on a backpacking trip alone or with HB, then not so nad.. but nt when there are young and old ones. Plus, if u rem my character, i hate uncertainties, meaning i rather have my itineraries all mapped out. Hey, i m a good travelling partner ok?

First time taking CX and i am pleasantly surprised and delighted at their lunch on board. Got haagen daaz leh! Plus the food's not that bad too! We arrived at their new airport, Suvarnabhumi Airport and my!!! its damm big n nice lor.. comparable to Changi Apt leh, nt kidding!

When we reached BKK, we were whisked to Asia Hotel, and this is when i promised myself that if i can, there will be no more Asia Hotel for me. Service dipped to rock bottom, even though we had been staying there for all our trips! Imagine when i asked for boiling hot water, i had to pay 35bahts, and if that is not enough, they have to "verbally" insult my intelligence, when i reiterated that i need hot boiling water to make milk for son. Guess what they said? "Yes mam (annoyingly boh-chap voice), hot water, make cofee, make tea, make milk, make noodles, hot water, mam"... Wa lau eh, super DLz lor!

First plc to visit is definitely Erawan Shrine, the 4-faced buddha. After the old statue got smashed by some lunatic, a lot of $ ws spent to rebuilt the new one. We did what we are supposed to do, i,e prayed, cleansed ourselves with the holy water and paid for a thai dance for the buddha.

after praying, we went to Siam Square area for sharks fins. Lousy food, lousy attitude and expensive. Boycotting totally from nw onwards. nt even wanting to put up their pics... took the tuk-tuks bk to hotel to go La-La land...

2nd Day, we spent almost 6 hours at MBK. Fantastic hor? I also think so... keke.. we went to MBK at abt 10am, and most shops were just opening. We shopped almost all levels except the 1st 2 levels... By the time we had our nice Suki Yaki hotpot lunch, it was alrady 2pm. Cheap n good, at abt S$11 per pax, for all you can eat.

by the time we were done at MBK, it was probably 4 plus, and we had initially wanted to proceed to Patpong, but we were all loaded with loots we bought from MBK, that we had no choice but to return to Asia Hotel to unload the loots and rest for a while before hitting Patpong.

Hey, Patpong aint tat fantastic but we actually found ourselves walking along alleys with Gay Pubs/Bars! What an eye-opener! How i wish i can snap-shot more pics but i really dun dare to, for fear of offending the people there. It is a small deal, seeing the bikini cladded women sashaying to loud music in the bars, but to be seeing gays in their white tight undies all dancing close to each other, is indeed new to me.

When we reached hotel, i immediately tucked Daryl to sleep, and dated bro n gf downstairs for Thai foot massage. Shiok lor, really!

3rd day, we went Chaktuchak. Din buy as much as we thot. Probably cos weather was hot and it is indeed frustating to walk and bumped into so many shoulders. And also, the stall owners were very reluctant to reduce price. After CTC, we headed to Chao Phraya River for the boat cruise. Its our 2nd time and bro's first time. Good way to rest our legs and enjoy the river breeze.

Upon reaching hotel, we had our dinner downstairs of the hotel, and returned the old folks n kid to the room to sleep, while the 4 of us, went to Siam Sq and MBK for our last burst. Din manage to get much, and returned to pack our stuff.

Left the hotel the next day at 9am for the apt. Touched down Singapore at abt 3.30pm. Had a quick dinner at Bert's hse before heading to Vivo for dismantling...
