Too tired to blog last night, after loss of blood and a terribly "Sedap" Dinner. Hit the bed at 9pm, and woke up this morning 9.30am!!!! Wa lau!!
Went for my OSCAR yesterday morning. This is an option offerred to all pregnant mummies during the 1st Trimester, for early and accurate detection of fetal anomalies, in particular, the Down Syndrome(DS). Actually, gynae did say that I fall between the lowest risk possible group, and the OSCAR is totally optional. But, as all mummies, I am kan cheong abt my baby.
The OSCAR involves:
1) Ultrasound (clear scanning of baby)
2) Blood Test (for DS, as well as for other future tests)
Reached Thomson Medical Centre (TMC) later than my appointed time. Lucky for me, that we din have to wait for a long time. In betwen the waiting, i was literally doing the water parade thingy, downing so many cups of water, to ensure full bladder for a clearer scan result.

A lady called out for me, and we proceeded into the Ultrasound Room. Hb was told to sit next to where i was lying. I love scanning!!! And damn! The baby's so active, that it was jerking and moving abt. What a joy! I stole a peek at hb, and saw him with that brilliant smile, eyes glued to the monitor, observing his little champion thrashing about. Back to the monitor, i saw Baby was kicking and wahahaha, has one little hand placed on the head, as if doing an "OMG!!!" signal!! Oh my precious love! The scan lasted at least 15mins, with me interrupting the scan due to a bout of sudden coughs.
Next, was called into the lab for my blood test. This is the one that has gotten me all jittery the day before. Din help that hb chose to go to the loo, seconds before the nurse called my name. Braved myself and walked into the room, and the nurse was amused to see my nervous face.
JJ: Hello. How much blood are we drawing this time?
Nurse: oh, not much, 3 tubes.
JJ: Huh, tubes???
Nurse: (Smiles), dun worry, now clench your fist...
She was still talking to me as she poked the damn needle into my arm. I had wanted to take the pics even before i reached TMC, and as the needle went in, i totally forgotten abt the pics! kekeke.. After she's done, i pulled open the door and as i stepped out, saw hb's shocked face, that its over while he's out somewhere relieving himself.. darn!

Well, the report would be out the next day, and I just received the call to inform me that all's normal... sigh, spend $400 over just to have that assurance...
anyway, after the OSCAR, i proceeded to my gynae's clinic for the regular checkup. The 1st thg she said to me was" You've lost weight. Have you not been eating?". This must be the 1st time i dun feel happy when i heard this sentence... waHahaha... After another round of scan, she confirmed that the gender of the baby's not determined yet, since its still early. Pray i will get to find out during next visit lor.
Left TMC, and went Balestier for a good fishball noodles at the Whampoa Market.. and we went to catch Mamma Mia, at Balestier Point. Oh, i simply love weekday's movies! No crowd, no queue!!! And i realised, I love musical shows!!! I mean, Mamma Mia is a great show! Old storyline, but with Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan, it simply is MY show... and not to mention the lovely songs! You know, i was clapping and swaying to the songs in the cinema... all becos the songs' so good, and no spectators!! wahaahaha...

Had dinner with my family at Seafood Paradise at Defu Lane 10. Have been hearing raves abt this place, and hence decided to try out. Their flagship store's at the Singapore's Flyer leh! Wa, i tell u, the food is delicious and their service is thumbs up! I dun want to elaborate how good the food and service is, but u go try out for yourselves.
In all, we had 2 types of crabs (all really good!!), coffee spare ribs, mushroom veggies, toufu treasure etc... 7 of us at only $145!!! Cheap and good! Whats best is that despite having excellent service, they dun impose service charges!!! Can you beat that?
