Recollections

like i mentioned in my wee morning post, i am gonna borrow greg's initiative, and start to count my blessings. after all, there's one thing that is increasing at a constant speed (although unlike GST or stoopid banks' interest rates, suka-suka increase at alarming rate), and there's no way i can write to appeal to whoever, to stop the increment. whatever am i talking abt? go round one big bush, only trying to tell u, that i'm getting older by the day, and memory failing me, by the minute.

YES! Age is catching up REAL FAST!! i figure i too, better starting putting down my memories before they choose to fade with time.

#1 - from a Girl to a Woman

not that i have no memories of the past (read: toddler-adolescent), but the past was just too painful to remember. dun have to think back about the Ugly Black Duckling time right. Probably the only things worth to retain in this mind, are the academic achievements and awards conferred. nothing much. period.

went thru several courtships, only to find the final man in my life, admist tears and after having concurred the world's toughest Obastcle Course - Parental Objections. The old sayings are darn right! "sow what you reap", " all roads lead to Rome", "苦尽甘来", "先苦后甜" etc etc...

did i mention somewhere b4, that rebellious ME, had even wanted to play Starship's "Nothing's gonna stop us now" as my wedding march?!! I freaked all my gfs!! ok, i din eventually use it as wedding march, but *gasps*... i used as 1st dish song lor...kekekeke

#2 - from a Woman to a Mummy

from pregnancy to delivery, it was a breeze. thou as with most pregnancies, there will usually be lotsa scares and contradictions. preggie news came to us, after 4 months into marriage. and we spent the next 7 mths enjoying the pregnancy process. Then, during the 8th month, gynae said my KL son, decided that upright position suited him most. Hence, it was diagnosed as a "Breech" birth. Aiya, cant blame son too, cos his mummy was also a Breech Baby! so that makes me equally KL too!!wahahaha. Thus, it was a c-section for me then.

wounds recovered slow, but every look at the baby, seemed like painkiller, and acted like a catalyst. in no time, i bounced into action, and i was on the way to become a Super Mummy!

Till now, its been 4 over years, and this darling of mine, is still my catalyst, in a different way entirely. He brings out the monsterous side in me. A side that i never can imagine i am capable of. High pitch screams across the living hall, totally screwed up face that aint cute at all, groans and moans when i gotta KEEP all his toys.. (dammit! i dun get to share the toys too!)...

But looking at him growing taller, day by day, and using his powerful vocabs that i dun think i have ever taught him, and good mannerisms that are instilled by anal mummy, i feel DAMM proud!

#3 - from an employee to an employer

it must be fated? nope, maybe its the guts afterall. ambitious me, threw away perfect employment opportunities, to try my luck as an employer, at the age of 23. Gosh! What was i thinking??!! 23 is like the twilight of a youth leh! But like a chess game, there's no turning back. And while fella frens were enjoying their precious youth, i threw my youth away, literally. Any complains? Yes, loads. Any pride? Yes, certainly. Any obstacbles? Almost everyday, it's a battlefield for me. Any regrets? NO!

Not borned with a silver spoon, my family can hardly be termed as "Well-to-do". Every little step we took, was critical. Gritting their teeth and marched on, was dad n mum's motto, to see us, kids, blossomed to become fine young man and lady. To be able to overcome so many obstacles to own a business today, is probably one of the proudest thing in my life, besides the birth of a terror, Daryl, of cos. Even those who started their business with lotsa cash and huge paid-up capital, find it difficult to maintain and operate, let alone us, who started out with almost no cash, and somemore whatever cash we had, got cheated by b*stards.

Still gritting our teeth and still marching on, has become our mantra. And reviewing this mantra, is extremely useful, when it comes to lull moments.

#4 - from friends to soulmates

friends aplenty. too many sometimes. but it only takes some silly, but true tests, to see the colours and degree of friendship, of each and everyone. Oh com'on, dun think i'm some freak who disdains and scorns at the mention of friendship! I believe in true friendships. Really. Friends, to me, are like wine. the older the better. The essence of good friendship, is being there when required, and staying away, when some freedom is required. Being there, when not required, is irritating to a certain level. And being far away, when companionship is needed, is "ruthless". my humble opinions lah.

these frens, stood to the tests. hahaha.. who am i to conduct "The Friendship Test" anyway? These pool of people, some i have known since Sec 1, and some from poly, and some from projects at workplace. But the friendship pretty sturdy lor... *cross my fingers*, better dun say too much.

#5 - from nonchalence to devotion

talking abt religions lah. never use to be so "gu-lat" (hardworking) in praying, cos i believe everything's within own grasps. How can one depend on spiritual comfort? But oh how wrong was i!!! now i believe in the saying, "got pray, got blessings"... keke. After going thru some incredible things myself, and also hearing abt incredible thgs that happened to a fren's mum, i cant help but think Gods are incredibly superb. By Gods, i mean all different Gods of different religions. Ok, i am being respectful here. Whatever religions to me, whether Taosim, Christianity, Buddhism, Catholic etc etc, are same across the board. If you have faith, you will be blessed.

Dun think i want to elaborate more on this topic, cos it can get really touchy...

whoohoo... its a real lengthy entry! And guess what, i'm on this site, since 11am till now. And the clock reads 4:10pm now. I'm skiving!!!! Doing all these during work hours... dammit! hahaha..
