Happy Bday to Me Celebration No. 2

Yesterday morning, hb and me went to Rasa Sentosa for a site recce with the RX guys, and at that instance, i felt so impulsive to stay on the sunny island (hey, this is the place whr i met hb!!) to R&R. But we cant, cos we have to rush back in time to pick Daryl from his school... oh well, i made a mental note to book a room at Rasa one of these days for our family of 3...
Received a sms from JC, asking if i have anything on in the night, else to accompany her for her essential retail therapy. I casually asked if she wants to celebrate my bday, and her reply was "aiyo, ur skin beri thick leh! no lah, i needed retail therapy, too "suffocated" by work, and need lots of love", and hence, we made a date to meet at orchard after her work.
I reached orchard abt 5plus, and started my own retail therapy. Felt so ashamed of myself cos i think i might have over-spent within these 2 weeks. I cant even recall how many dresses and tops i have gotten for myself! And the gals were teasing me big time with my wayward thinking of "having 15 sets of new clothings for CNY". Hahaha, ya, that is a target i am trying to hit, to wear new clothings everyday for the 15 days of CNY. Hb has long resigned to the fact that i am a little "koo-koo" up there.
JC reached abt 7, and we headed to Far East to shop. She casually informed me that Sel will be late, and i was like "Ok, we'll eat and shop together". They had long informed me that they will celebrate my bday this week, and we had tried to set this coming Friday as a celebration, together with Cheeseboy's celebration for me. When Sel reached, JC and me walked over to Wheelock and we decided to have Jap food. While on the waiting list, we talked abt our impending trip to BKK this April. Finally and hopefully we will manage to go. Too many "obstacles" when we tried to plan our trip late last year.
Dinner was as usual, fun and full of chatters. With Sel ard, there's never a quiet moment. We are always tickled by her animated gestures. The gals were so sweet! I casually mentioned that i felt like having an entree - scallop and no main dish, they said "just order lah! and pls get a main too" Hey, i still a bit "heartache" over the expensive entree leh. Just one scallop cut into slice and buried with savoury creamy sauce and topped with roe and spicy curry powder, cost a whooping $17 i think. Its actually much cheaper than any dresses i bought lately, but i still think its expensive lor. But, one scoop and one bite proved that there is obviously a reason why they have to price it that way. Because it was just "SO DAMM GOOD!!!"
We were talking abt our common friend and abt Sel's stuff, when we saw the waitress walking towards us. She dished out a pretty plate with 3 tart-like pastries with 3 lighted candles on individual tarts. I had thot it was for me, but the couple sitting behind our table, was singing the birthday song amongst themselve. Hence i thot it might not be for me afterall. Damm, the candles should have been the most obvious tell-tale signs and yet i was simply oblivious to the wavering flames.
Cheeky Sel still asked aloud, wondering who's celebrating the bday in the restaurant too. keke... When the waitress delivered the plate to our table, my 2 loved ones, smiled and gave me that "surprise-surprise!!" look. Love them to bits! Sel had just "chided" me for being "thick-skinned" (yes, both JC n Sel love my skin a lot lor) to demand for cake! The pretty pastries sat on the plate, looking for delicious and tempting, but just cant bear to gobble up. Pretty dainty stuff shld be treated with extra gentleness and lots of respects. And hence, we started to nibble at the 3 items: Tiramisu, Strawberry Tarts and Chocolate Glaze (my own name for it).
By the time we left the restaurant, it was closed to 11pm. JC took the NEL, and Sel and me trained back to Bishan. Along our journey, we talked abt Sel and her recent spate of unhappiness. So how, we dun seem to get tired discussing or hearing her woes. To her, she needed someone who is level-headed and can wake up her puzzled mind, and to me, while hearing, consoling, pointing her mistakes and airing my views, I get a chance to further understand and practised what i have been preaching to her.
We ended our intimate heartfelt conversation at close to 12.30am. I think she probably had a good night sleep cos i know she's been enlightened and that she will try to do what she thinks is right. Sel, if u r reading this, rem, things can only get better.
Thanks gals, for the celebration No. 2. See ya on Fri for celebration No. 3.
